Fee Support at Snapdragons Nursery
Founded in January 1998 in Atworth, Snapdragons has grown from a small farmhouse nursery to multiple locations in Bath, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, responsive childcare that meets local needs and supports our community.
At Snapdragons, we believe in creating memorable, fun nursery experiences that build trust and confidence with parents. Our nurturing environment helps children thrive, fostering a love for learning and the development of well-rounded, confident individuals.
We understand the cost of childcare can be significant. We offer various support options, including tax-free childcare and early years entitlement funding, to help families manage expenses.

Available Funding at a Glance
How old is your child?
When is it available?
Your child will qualify for funding starting the term after their birthday. For babies under 1 year old, this will be the term after they turn 9 months. Check out the table below to see when your child becomes eligible. Our terms usually begin in September, January, and April.
How many hours of childcare can you get per week?
*38 weeks a year. Eligibility criteria apply. Snapdragons apply an enhanced provision charge alongside the funded hours.
What does the funding look like at Snapdragons?
At Snapdragons, we stretch the funding to offer it throughout the year. Your child’s annual funding entitlement of either 570 hours or 1140 hours will be applied to your booking over 51 weeks. If your child is eligible for 15 hours, you will receive 11 hours per week all year round. A child eligible for 30 hours will receive 22 hours per week all year round.
The only exception is children new to funding in the summer term who attend one of our nurseries in South Gloucestershire or Wiltshire. Please see our FAQs for more information.
We offer a limited number of term-time only places at some of our sites: Corsham (3-5 years only), Broadwood, and Shirehampton for children aged 2 and up. Please speak to the admissions team or your nursery about availability.
At Snapdragons, we offer funding alongside an Enhanced Provision Charge (EPC) for each funded hour. We believe our offering is truly excellent. However, we recognise the significant cost of childcare and want families to understand what the EPC covers and how it is calculated.
Enhanced Provision Charge
At Snapdragons we will apply an Enhanced Provision Charge for each funded hour allocated to your child – the EPC for your nursery can be found on the website alongside the main nursery fees. The Early Years funding covers only the basic delivery of the Early Years Framework and is not designed to cover all of the consumables and other extras that help Snapdragons deliver an exceptional experience for your children.
Any absences from nursery are charged as normal. The EPC is calculated for the whole funding period based on the total number of funded hours we will pass on in the term. This total charge will then be divided equally across the months covered by the funding period. You can use the tool below to estimate your cost per week.
What Does the EPC Cover?

Please use this tool as a guide only. For an accurate forecast of your monthly invoice please contact the accounts team directly.
Your Invoice
You will receive a monthly invoice with the exact sessions listed that your child will attend in a given month. The EPC is worked out for the term and spread evenly across each month of that funded term. A draft invoice is sent out to all funded children, before the start of term. We ask that this invoice is carefully checked, and any errors or questions are brought to the attention of the accounts team.
